About Me

Having a passion for photography since before my teens, I was bought my first camera when I was about 8 years old and haven't looked back. My parents obviously knew this was a mistake when they had to get a film developed every other week, but I'd like to think they saw my potential and encouraged me none the less.
Throughout my education I developed my creative skills with Art GCSE and A'Levels, where many techniques can be used in both painting/drawing and in photography. Composing your view and setting key items on thirds in the image.
For 19th birthday I got my first digital camera and that's when my love and passion for photography grew. Having the freedom to take as many photos as my memory card could hold and being able to delete the bad ones gave me the opportunity to develop my skills by reviewing the image I took and amending the composition or settings to create a better picture.
My first trip with my digital camera was to New York. This was an amazing trip and if I remember rightly, I came back with about 200 photos (from 4 days sightseeing!) and I think I had filled my memory card to the brim! I have since increased the capacity of my cards and on average can take about 200-300 photos on just one night out with my friends and family. Don't even ask how many photos I take on a week long holiday as I think it usually exceeds 1000.
I went in a slightly different direction for my university degree, doing Media and American Studies, just in case photography wasn't going to be a lucrative career. This degree, however, had aspects of art, film, photography and creative parts that kept me hooked on taking photographs all the way through and I came out the other end with a BA Degree and an even bigger passion for photography.
Since leaving university, I have worked in a number of roles that have had some influence on my photography or I have at least been able to use my skills within the workplace. Taking pictures of staff nights out, team building days, family fun days, hospitality events, advertising promotions, store launches and so on.
I recently created Purple Cherry Photography to showcase my work. Based in Datchet, in Berkshire I am available predominantly for the South East but will still give quotes for national and international work. I hope you like my photographs and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me through the Contact page.
Thanks
